How my family celebrates chinese new year



            There are several ways in my family when we want to celebrate the chinese new year. First, we will make a cookies and put it all on the table so that when there was a guest came to our house, they could eat our hommade cookie. I like to help my mom to make the cookie, because it can also improve my skill. By the way, I love the third day of chinese new year, because I can eat all the cake or cookies which is not run out. Second, we will go to our siblings house for doing a relationship. So, in this part we do exactly the same as the guest that come to our house. We ate our siblings’ cookies and cake and we took some photo and the other things, or sometimes we just doing some chit-chat in their house. Third, this is my favorite part, which is we as the children got “ang pao” from the parents. There is a tradition in our culture that before we received the “ang pao”, we have to said “Gong Xi Fat Choi” first, and only after that we can receive the “ang pao”.  In the end, that are several ways in my family when we are celebrating chinese new year.

    Hi Vicky, I like your paragraph. So simple and fun to read. However, I find a mistake about your sentence. In the 2nd sentence, you have to change "a cookies" into "some cookies". Overall it is a good paragraph.

    Ahh, ang pao, I remembered the moment when I was still a child I can get ang pao as many as I want, now it's different only the youngest can get the ang pao. I wish I can remain young :( . Anyway, It's a well-written paragraph, and I enjoyed reading it very much. However, I want to give you a suggestion for this sentence "In the end, that are several ways in my family when we are celebrating chinese new year." change to, In the end, those are several ways of celebrating Chinese new year with my family. I think it may give you a bonus point lol. :D

    Yours really simple and clear for me. Your paragraph well-structured and you highlighted the topic sentence, supporting sentence, but then you forget to highlighted the concluding sentence. Also, for this sentence, "...there was a guest came to our house, they could eat.." should be "guests" because there are many of them. "Second, we will go to our siblings house for doing a relationship" perhaps you may change it become "..for visit and tighten our relationship".

    Hello Vicky, Glad to see your article, I think your paragraph was being structured well. easily for me to understand your main topic, major and also the minor supporting sentences because you underline and marked it. Anyway I just want give a little bit correction in this sentences " I like to help my mom to make the cookie." should be " I like to help my mom to make the cookies."

    I like your paragraph and the way you write is so simple and easy for me to understand. Your highlight sentences is so helpful for me to find the main sentences in this paragraph. Also, I can see clearly the major and minor sentences. Anyway, I have some suggestion for your paragraph. I think it's better for you to change the sentence which is "help my mom to make the cookie" become "help my mom to make some cookies or the cookies." and the sentences "it can also improve my skill" I think this sentences a little bit awkward and unclear. It's better to cut the word "also" because it's unnecessary in my perspective. Overall, you did a great job! Keep it up! :D

    Revision: How My Family Celebrates Chinese New Year
    Topic Sentence: There are several ways in my family when we are going to celebrate Chinese New Year.
    Suporting Sentence: First, my mother and I usually will make cookies that will be served at the guest table in my living room.
    Suporting Sentence: Second, we will go to our relative’s household and do the same thing with them.
    Suporting Sentence: Last, it could not be called as Chinese New Year when it not come to it’s climax, “ang pao”.
    Conclusion Sentence: In short, we are really enjoying our Chinese New Year celebration as the form to keep our tradition.

    There are several ways in celebrating Chinese New Year in my family. First, my mother and I usually will make cookies that will be served at the guest table in my living room. This cake is placed on the table with the purpose that guests who come can enjoy the cake that has been provided by the host. Second, we will go to our relative’s house and do the same thing with them. This action purposes to honor those who have come to our home as a form of respecting them. Moreover, we also take pictures and talk about random things, play together and share our stories. Last, it could not be called as Chinese New Year when it not come to it’s climax, “ang pao”. As information, the distribution of “ang pao” is only applied for relative. Therefore, my favorite day is when we have to count the amount of our “ang pao” it is really fun especially when you have to compare your amount with your siblings. In short, we are really enjoying our Chinese New Year celebration as the form to keep our tradition.
