KAO in Management Information System
This
week, we have a presentation about what we learning last meeting. In my group,
I and Elvira will presented KAO’s organization on how they get their market
analysis, their value chain, their core competence and in the end on how management
information system help them in their business. I and Elvira already make the
paper, that is why now I will only cite a little bit about the paper that I
already made. In their industry analysis, KAO mostly have high criteria in all
of their points. This caused by KAO mostly produce dairy product that can be
imitated by mostly all the organization that produce the same product like KAO,
for instance, Unilever as the main rival of the KAO organization. Consequently,
many substitute products (Surf, Kotex, Mammy Poko) can be found beside KAO
products (Attack, Merries, Laurier). Next for the KAO value chain, they have “Yoki-Monozukuri” which yoki stated for excellent and monozukuri stated for development of the
product. In short, if the sentence is being combine, it will become an excellent
in developing a new product. By this meaning only, we can find and understand
that KAO want to give their customer an excellent product that being developed
by using an advance technology. Furthermore, for their core competence, as the
same with the value chain, KAO put passion and trust from their value to all of
their employee so that all the employee realize and work as the value of the organization.
Last, how information system help KAO business. Here, by information system
which are including gathering and analyze the information, KAO find that even
though their market mostly full of competitor that produce in the same product,
they still can stand in the market and make
a better strategy to compete to their competitor.
